The client’s full time CIO retired after many years of service to the organization. Jack Pine Consulting was asked to step in and provide Strategic IT Leadership and mentorship to the IT team.

The client’s IT team had suffered from considerable turnover over a short period of time. They were struggling to retain key IT skills. Morale on the IT team was low. Jack Pine Consulting (JPC) was able to step in and quickly identify strategic initiatives for the coming year. The initiatives were addressed as strategic projects managed by JPC and addressed a number of shortcomings.

JPC recommended and provided oversight to the creation of IT Steering Committee, with representatives of key stakeholders. This elevated the challenges and current condition of the IT function. JPC was instrumental in convincing leadership of the necessity of these projects and securing investments to move the IT function forward.

Weekly IT team meetings were implemented to regularly communicate the status of the initiatives and maintain focus on achieving the objectives of the strategic plan. As a result of JPC’s leadership, all the objectives were accomplished. The IT team has a higher level of morale, recognizing that investments were being made, they were participating in making positive change, and were encouraged about the future of IT within the organization.

JPC provides leadership with monthly progress updates, objectives for the coming month, and strategic objectives for the current quarter.
